The work of Italian artist Paola Pivi is currently on view at The RockbundArt Museum in Shanghai until the 9th September. This is the artist’s first public exhibition in China and includes many of her most eye-catching works. The most pertinent of which to rug and textile watchers being her 2010 work “What Goes – Art  Comes Around” in which a series of 24 fake fur rugs are installed in rotation. ImageImage

The exhibition continues the artist fascination with ambiguity and contradictions, as she herself says “feelings like lightness and weight, smoothness and violence, warm and cold, seriousness and absurdity, singularity and mass.” Indeed. BE
