Letting Go is a large-scale installation piece conceived by Minneapolis-based graffiti artist Hottea, which is currently showing at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts until 2 September 2012. The installation, which was created over three months from 14,000 individual strands of yarn at 32 ft long each, spans across two floors and with its fusion of orange, yellow and red coloured threads is Hottea’s interpretation of the sun. Visitors are encouraged to view the threads from lying on the ‘grass’ beneath.
