Allentown Art Museum in collaboration with Red Rooster Fabrics have created a new fabric collection inspired by the 19th-century Japanese Katagami (paper stencils used primarily for printing patterns on kimono fabric)in the museum’s textile collection. The collection includes eight katagami designs in traditional nature-inspired patterns and two textural prints (one based on shibori and other on indigo-dyed woven fabrics).
